Wagner Group Rejects U.S. Claims of North Korean Arms Purchases

Russia’s Wagner Group denies U.S. allegations of acquiring weapons from North Korea amid Ukraine conflict.

The Wagner Group, a Russian private military organization, has denied recent allegations by the U.S. that it purchased weapons from North Korea, which would constitute a violation of United Nations resolutions. This claim was raised by White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby, who stated that U.S. intelligence had found evidence suggesting the Wagner Group had obtained military supplies to bolster Russian forces in Ukraine.

Despite the accusation, Kirby clarified that the amount of material reportedly provided to Wagner is unlikely to shift the dynamics of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Wagner Group officials, however, have firmly dismissed the U.S. assertion, rejecting any involvement with North Korean arms in support of their operations in Ukraine.
