A Small Canadian Village Devastated by Fires Following Extreme Temperatures
Lytton, a village in Canada, shattered temperature records on Tuesday, soaring to a staggering 49.6°C (121°F). However, less than a day later, residents faced an urgent evacuation as wildfires erupted with little warning.
Authorities report that the majority of the town’s homes and structures have been obliterated, including the local ambulance station and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police detachment. As of Friday, several residents remain unaccounted for amid the chaos.
The region is currently battling multiple wildfires, fueled by a prolonged “heat dome” that has enveloped the area for several days, resulting in oppressive heat conditions.
