Anniversary Honors Victims of Norway’s Deadliest Peacetime Attack
On Thursday, Norway will hold commemorations to mark the 10-year anniversary of the nation’s most devastating peacetime attack. On July 22, 2011, right-wing extremist Anders Breivik detonated a bomb in Oslo, killing eight people, before moving to the small island of Utoya. There, he brutally targeted young members of the Labor Party’s youth wing, killing 69 people, most of them teenagers.
