Trump Speaks Out on Ashli Babbitt’s Death Amid Family’s Legal Action

Former President Claims Knowledge of Officer’s Identity in Capitol Shooting

On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump revealed that he had a conversation with Ashli Babbitt’s mother and husband following her death at the hands of police during the January 6 Capitol riot. He stated he knows the identity of the officer who shot Ms. Babbitt as she attempted to breach a restricted area of the Capitol.

Ms. Babbitt was killed during the insurrection incited by supporters of Mr. Trump. He expressed, “We know who he is. If that had happened to the ‘other side,’ there would be riots all over America. Yet, there are far more people represented by Ashli, who truly loved America, than those on the other side. The Radical Left haters cannot be allowed to get away with this. There must be justice!”

Trump’s remarks come as Ms. Babbitt’s family prepares to file a wrongful death lawsuit for $10 million against the officer involved in her shooting. Family attorney Terry Roberts described the incident as an “ambush,” asserting that the officer had warned Ms. Babbitt to stay back prior to the shooting. In a similar vein, Ms. Babbitt’s husband has also called for the officer’s identity to be made public.
