The Festive 90-second Film Highlights Childhood Imagination and a Charitable Campaign
McDonald’s has joined the Christmas ad frenzy with a heartwarming 90-second film featuring a character named “Imaginary Iggy,” who brings joy to a young girl, Matilda, during the festive season. Set to a soulful acoustic version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time,” performed by Swedish-English artist Mabel, the commercial promises to evoke deep emotions as it follows the power of childhood imagination.
The story showcases Matilda’s journey of self-discovery with Iggy, a whimsical blue creature with horns, striped socks, a tinsel tail, and a wide grin. When they first meet, Matilda offers Iggy a carrot from McDonald’s Reindeer Treats bag, marking the beginning of a new friendship as Iggy helps Matilda step out of her shy shell.
Alongside the touching narrative, McDonald’s has launched a campaign aimed at tackling food insecurity this Christmas, pledging to help redistribute five million meals to families in need through the charity FareShare.
