Joy Ride Turns Fatal as Light Aircraft Crashes Near Brisbane, Leaving Family Devastated
On Sunday, a light plane crash in Queensland, Australia, resulted in the deaths of all four people aboard, including two children. The four-seater aircraft, which had taken off from Redcliffe airfield northeast of Brisbane, was believed to be on a “joy ride” when it crashed into the waters at around 9 a.m. local time.
The crash occurred just off the end of the runway at Redcliffe, approximately 32 kilometers from Brisbane. Queensland police inspector Craig White confirmed that the victims were family members of the 69-year-old pilot, who was also killed in the crash. Authorities described the family as being deeply traumatized by the incident, which took place during what was meant to be a family day at the aerodrome.
