COVID-19 Vaccinations for Children Under 5 May Be Within Reach

Moderna and Pfizer Near Approvals for Kid-Sized Doses for Children Under 5

COVID-19 vaccinations for the youngest children could be on the horizon, as Moderna plans to seek U.S. authorization for its kid-sized shots. The company released early study results suggesting that two small doses are effective in children younger than 6.

Meanwhile, Pfizer is also progressing with its efforts, expecting to receive results on whether its three lower-dose shots for young children are effective in the coming weeks. If approved, these vaccines could soon be available to the nation’s 18 million children under 5, pending final review and authorization.
