Trump Jr. Discusses Plan to “Control” 2020 Election Outcome, Reveals Congressional Probe Findings

Text Messages Unveil Efforts to Influence Election Results Before Final Outcome Was Declared

Two days after the 2020 U.S. Election, Donald Trump Jr. engaged in a conversation with then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows about strategies to “control” the election outcome, according to newly released text messages. These texts, reported by CNN and uncovered during a congressional investigation into the January 6th Capitol attack, shed light on the extraordinary lengths to which Trump and his allies were willing to go to contest the election results.

In the messages, Trump Jr. claimed that they had “operational control” and “multiple paths” to influence the result. He urged Meadows to take immediate action, stressing that it was crucial to push the plan forward to ensure that all necessary parties were involved. The communications reveal the behind-the-scenes efforts that were in motion before the official election results had even been certified.
