Heat alerts issued as parts of the country approach 40°C

France is grappling with its third heatwave of the year, as temperatures climb into the high 30s. On Wednesday, the city of Toulouse was forecast to reach 40°C, with central and southern France experiencing highs around 38°C. In response, 27 departments have been placed under an “orange” weather alert. Authorities in Paris have urged residents to exercise extreme caution, advising them to avoid direct sunlight when possible to protect their health. As the heatwave continues, the public is reminded of the risks posed by extreme temperatures, especially to vulnerable populations.
