Ceremonial Procession Marks a New Chapter in the Mourning Period

Today, Wednesday 14 September, a ceremonial procession will transfer Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, where she will lie in state. The Queen, who passed away on 8 September at the age of 96, has had her coffin journey from Balmoral in Scotland to Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, and now, this solemn procession marks the beginning of her final public tribute in London. The state funeral preparations continue, with many paying their respects as the nation mourns the loss of its longest-reigning monarch.
