Injured Romelu Lukaku Makes Belgium’s World Cup Squad for Qatar

Despite Limited Playtime, Striker Included in 26-Man Squad with Hopes for Knockout Stage Fitness

Romelu Lukaku has been selected for Belgium’s 26-man World Cup squad despite a challenging season hampered by injuries. The Inter Milan striker, currently on loan from Chelsea, has managed just five appearances and completed a full 90 minutes only once, due to ongoing hamstring and thigh issues.

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has decided to include Lukaku in the squad, banking on his potential availability during the knockout stages if his fitness improves. With his selection, Belgium holds out hope for Lukaku’s eventual impact in Qatar.
