Flood Alerts and Cold Weather Warnings as Britain Faces the End of an Exceptionally Wet November

Severe Downpours and Freezing Temperatures Predicted to Round Off a Harsh Month of Weather

As November draws to a close, Britain is grappling with an ongoing weather crisis. The country remains under multiple flood alerts, with further heavy rainfall forecasted to hit, capping what has already been an “exceptionally wet” month. The Met Office has warned that this deluge will be followed by a cold snap, marking the coldest spell of the autumn so far. Temperatures in parts of southern England are expected to plunge to -3°C, with most regions seeing daytime highs stuck in low-to-mid single figures.

While the coming week will offer some relief from the relentless rain, as Scandinavian winds bring widespread cold, the respite will not come until a final wave of wet weather drenches southern England, bringing up to 30mm of rain to the area. This weather shift will signal the start of winter conditions, with heavy rainfall and freezing temperatures set to dominate the forecast.
