Cricket has evolved into three primary formats: Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20, each offering unique competition styles. ODIs have a longer history, with the World Cup first held in 1975. Australia leads in victories, winning five times (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015). England most recently won in 2019, edging out New Zealand in a thrilling super-over at Lord’s.
Twenty20, the game’s shortest format, has rapidly gained popularity with several highly profitable tournaments around the world. Australia currently holds the title after winning the 2021 T20 World Cup.
