Psychologist for Depp’s Legal Team Claims Heard Exhibits Traits of Borderline and Histrionic Personality Disorders
During the ongoing defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, psychologist Dr. Shannon Curry, hired by Depp’s legal team, testified on Tuesday that her assessment found Heard displaying traits of two personality disorders. The high-profile trial, which began on 11 April in Fairfax, Virginia, centers on Depp’s claim that Heard defamed him in a December 2018 Washington Post op-ed titled “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”
Dr. Curry reported meeting with Heard on two separate occasions, on 10 and 17 December 2021, for a total of 12 hours of evaluation. She testified that the findings indicated Heard exhibited characteristics of borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder. Observers noted a physical reaction from Heard as Dr. Curry shared her diagnosis on the stand.
