Ant and Dec Mock Downing Street Over Christmas Party Scandal on I’m a Celebrity

Leaked Footage of No. 10 Staff Joking About Party Sparks Outrage Amid Lockdown

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly took aim at Downing Street during the latest episode of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in response to the ongoing scandal surrounding an alleged Christmas party held last year amid strict lockdown measures.

The controversy erupted on December 7 when leaked footage showed senior Downing Street staff laughing about hosting a Christmas gathering at No. 10. In the video, Boris Johnson’s then-spokesperson Allegra Stratton joked that the event wasn’t “socially distanced” and suggested portraying it to the public as a “business meeting.”

The footage, filmed during a rehearsal for press briefings, also featured mock questions from Johnson’s special advisor Ed Oldfield and other staff. While Johnson has apologized for the video, he maintains that no party actually took place.
