Lawsuit claims Trump supporters endangered Biden bus in Texas, citing Ku Klux Klan Act and state laws
Former campaign staff members of President Joe Biden have filed a lawsuit against a convoy of Trump supporters, accusing them of aggressively surrounding and nearly forcing their campaign bus off a Texas highway in 2020. The suit was filed on behalf of Wendy Davis, a former Texas state senator; David Gins, a White House staffer; Eric Cervini, a former Biden volunteer; and Timothy Holloway, the bus driver.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Trump supporters engaged in reckless behavior, such as tailgating, swerving, and harassing the bus occupants, forcing the vehicle to slow down on the highway. The lawsuit claims that this conduct violated the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871 and Texas law, arguing that the actions were a politically motivated attempt to intimidate and disrupt the Biden campaign.
Seven individuals, including Eliazar Cisneros, Hannah Ceh, and others, are named as defendants, accused of participating in this “madcap game of highway ‘chicken,’” which allegedly brought them within inches of the Biden bus.
