Biden’s Federal Worker Vaccine Mandate Reaches High Compliance, Avoiding Major Workforce Disruptions

Over 90% of Federal Employees Comply with Vaccine Mandate; Counseling Offered for Remaining Holdouts

The Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for millions of federal employees has achieved a high rate of compliance, with minimal disruption reported across critical sectors such as law enforcement, intelligence, and holiday travel. As of the day following the deadline, White House officials reported that 92% of the 3.5 million federal workers affected by the mandate have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

With 96.5% of federal employees either vaccinated or qualifying for medical or religious exemptions, the administration expressed confidence in the mandate’s effectiveness. Workers who are not yet in compliance will be offered counseling to encourage vaccination or assist in filing exemptions. Dismissal is viewed as a last resort only if compliance is not met after these steps.

White House assistant press secretary Kevin Munoz stated, “We know vaccine requirements work,” underscoring the administration’s aim to inspire similar workplace mandates to enhance public health across the private sector.

A detailed compliance report by agency is expected soon.
