Bruce Springsteen postpones rest of shows this year because of peptic ulcer disease

The rock icon continues recovery and promises to return to the stage in 2024.

Bruce Springsteen, the legendary rock star, announced Wednesday that he would be postponing all remaining performances for the rest of 2023 as he continues to recover from peptic ulcer disease. Springsteen, 74, had already canceled several shows in September with hopes of resuming his tour, but doctors advised him to extend his treatment.

“Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice,” a statement from Springsteen and the E Street Band said.

As a result, all remaining 2023 tour dates have been postponed until 2024. Springsteen had been scheduled to perform in cities like Phoenix, San Diego, Inglewood, California, and San Francisco later this year.

“Rescheduled dates for each of the 2023 shows, including those postponed earlier this month, will be announced next week, all taking place at their originally scheduled venues,” the statement added.

Springsteen expressed his gratitude for the support from fans during his recovery and assured them that he was “on the mend” and eagerly looking forward to returning to the stage next year.

His next performances are now expected to take place on August 21 and 23, 2024, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Springsteen’s return, and the announcement of rescheduled dates is expected to be met with excitement as he makes his way back to the stage in 2024.
