Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman Throws First Pitch at Nationals Game

Hero of January 6 Riot Honored at Washington Nationals Event

Eugene Goodman, the Capitol police officer celebrated for his bravery during the January 6 riot, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Washington Nationals game. Goodman became renowned for his quick thinking when he lured rioters away from the Senate floor, thereby protecting lawmakers as they sought to certify Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump.

Footage presented during Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial showcased Officer Goodman’s heroism, including a moment when he assisted Senator Mitt Romney in avoiding confrontation with the mob.

Wearing a Nationals jersey emblazoned with his name, Goodman took the mound to throw the pitch on Friday night, as the Nationals faced off against the New York Mets and secured a 1-0 victory. The event also served to promote the Neighborhood Heroes Fund, which provides support for first responders.
