Computer scientists in China have developed an artificial intelligence model that they claim mirrors the complexity of the human brain. Named “bagualu,” or “alchemist’s pot,” the AI was run on the advanced Sunway supercomputer, located at the National Supercomputing Center in Jiangsu province.
Researchers have described the model as “brain-scale,” meaning its architecture is as intricate as that of the human brain, and it could be leveraged for a wide range of applications. Potential uses include enhancing self-driving vehicle technology, improving computer vision, and making breakthroughs in fields such as chemistry and scientific research.
