Explosions in Afghanistan Leave Dozens of Casualties, Including Mosque Bombing in Kabul

Blast in Kabul mosque kills five worshippers; three bombings of minivans in northern Afghanistan claim nine lives.

A series of violent explosions rattled Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to Taliban officials, marking another day of tragedy in the nation. Among the attacks was a deadly explosion at the Hazrat Zakaria Mosque in Kabul, where a blast during evening prayers claimed the lives of at least five worshippers and injured several others. The Kabul Emergency Hospital reported that it received 22 victims from the mosque, including five fatalities.

Further north, three minivan bombings killed nine passengers. Details remain scarce as authorities continue to investigate the motives and perpetrators behind the attacks. Khalid Zadran, a Taliban police spokesman, indicated that updates on the incidents are expected as more information emerges.
