Clinton’s Red Carpet Appearance Celebrates Inspirational Women Through Hand-Embroidered Names
Hillary Clinton made her highly anticipated return to the Met Gala after more than two decades, turning heads in a custom maroon gown designed by Joseph Altuzarra. The former First Lady and Secretary of State’s striking dress was a tribute to the powerful women who shaped American history.
The gown featured 60 embroidered names, including those of iconic figures such as Madeline Albright, Abigail Adams, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Lady Bird Johnson, and Clinton’s own mother, Dorothy Rodham. Altuzarra revealed that his handwriting was used to inscribe the names of these historic women, each painstakingly hand-embroidered to create a personal and meaningful homage for Clinton.
This marked not only Clinton’s first Met Gala appearance in over 20 years but also a moment to celebrate the women who influenced her life and the nation.
