The BBC has announced the date for Jodie Whittaker’s final episode as the Doctor in the beloved series Doctor Who. Whittaker will make her last appearance in the third of three special episodes that have been aired throughout 2022. Titled The Power of the Doctor, the episode will air on Sunday, October 23.
While it remains unclear whether the episode will introduce Ncuti Gatwa, the actor confirmed earlier this year to take over the role of the Doctor, the special is highly anticipated as a significant moment for fans. Gatwa, known for his role in Sex Education, will lead the show into a new era, with returning showrunner Russell T Davies at the helm.
