New Official Portrait of Melania Trump Unveiled

US First Lady’s Portrait Taken in the White House Features the Washington Monument in the Background

A new official portrait of Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, has been revealed. The image was captured in the Yellow Oval Room of the White House on 21 January, the day following her husband Donald Trump’s inauguration. The iconic Washington Monument is visible in the background of the black-and-white photograph.

In the portrait, Melania Trump is seen wearing a dark business suit with her hands resting on a reflective table. The photograph was taken by Belgian photographer Regine Mahaux, known for previously photographing the Trump family, including Melania’s official portrait during her first term in the role.

This release follows the attention Melania Trump garnered at her husband’s inauguration, where her choice of a distinctive wide-brimmed hat became a focal point after Donald Trump attempted to kiss her cheek but struggled to get close due to the hat’s size.

Earlier in the month, Donald Trump’s own official portrait was made public, sparking comparisons to a police mugshot.
