Campaigners are sounding the alarm over the safety of these vulnerable children, many of whom have crossed the Channel alone. There are growing fears that these children, left in “inappropriate” hotel accommodation, are at risk of abuse and exploitation.
Recent data shows that 20 children went missing in under five weeks, further stressing the lack of adequate care and protection in these hotels. The absence of proper oversight is fueling concerns about the long-term safety and well-being of these refugees, who often arrive already traumatized by their journey.
