Jin of BTS Completes Military Service, Marks Step Towards Full Reunion in 2025

Jin’s return signals the band’s eventual reunion after mandatory military service completion.

Jin, the eldest member of BTS, has completed his mandatory military service in South Korea. After serving for 18 months at an army base in Yeoncheon, Jin’s return was celebrated with a heartfelt reunion with his bandmates. The event was livestreamed for fans around the world to witness, creating an emotional moment for both Jin and his supporters.

During the reunion, Jin was welcomed with flowers by his bandmates, and one of them, rapper RM, even performed a portion of the group’s 2020 hit single “Dynamite” on the saxophone. This touching display emphasized the strong bond between the members, despite their time apart due to their military obligations.

While Jin’s return is a significant moment for BTS fans, it is only one step toward the group’s full reunion. The remaining six members of BTS, including RM, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook, and Jimin, still have to complete their mandatory service, which will not conclude until 2025. This means that BTS fans will have to wait until then for the entire group to come together again.

The band’s hiatus due to mandatory military service has been a major event for the global music scene. BTS had previously announced that they would take time off for individual members to fulfill their obligations to South Korea’s mandatory conscription law. The group’s hiatus has left a void in the K-pop world, but their fans, known as ARMY, have been supportive of the decision, eagerly awaiting their return.

BTS’s influence on the global music scene, particularly in popularizing K-pop in the United States, is undeniable. Since their debut in 2013, the group has broken numerous records and has been recognized as one of the biggest music acts worldwide. Their success has paved the way for other K-pop artists to gain international recognition and has solidified BTS’s place in music history.

Although the members are serving in the military, BTS has not been inactive. They have continued to release solo projects, which have been met with success. Each member has been able to explore their own musical style, and their individual work has kept their fanbase engaged. However, the anticipation for their full return as a group is growing, with fans eager to see what new music they will create together.

In 2025, when all seven members complete their military service, BTS is expected to reunite and return to making music. Until then, fans will continue to support their solo endeavors and celebrate Jin’s return, marking a new chapter in BTS’s journey.
