Private Jet Crashes Before Takeoff in Texas, All 21 Occupants Survive

A miraculous escape as passengers, including a 10-year-old, walk away from the fiery wreckage.

A private jet carrying 21 people, including 18 passengers and three crew members, crashed and caught fire in Texas on Tuesday morning, just before taking off for a Major League Baseball playoff game in Boston. Despite the dramatic incident, all passengers safely exited the wreckage, though one suffered a back injury. The plane, a McDonnell Douglas DC 9-87, rolled off the runway and burst into flames near Houston Executive Airport in Waller County. The aircraft was chartered for the American League Championship Series game between the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox. Emergency services quickly responded, and the fire was extinguished, with no fatalities reported. Investigations by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are underway to determine the cause of the crash.
