Cost of Living Crisis Set to Worsen in April with Skyrocketing Energy Bills

Households Brace for Unprecedented Increases in Essential Costs

The cost of living crisis is about to escalate further on 1 April, when households face the largest rise in energy costs in living memory. Energy bills are expected to jump by a staggering 54 percent, equating to an increase of almost £700, pushing annual bills to just under £2,000.

In addition to this, National Insurance contributions are set to rise by 1.25 percent, further straining household budgets. Inflation continues to rise, and water bills are expected to soar, adding additional financial pressure on families already grappling with rising costs. This combination of rising energy, taxes, and essential living expenses will likely deepen the financial struggles for millions of households across the country.
