Demonstrations Erupt Nationwide Against External Influence and Tigray Leaders
Thousands of people across Ethiopia participated in widespread demonstrations on Saturday, protesting what they perceive as interference by foreign entities in the country’s internal matters. The rallies, including one in the capital Addis Ababa, were a response to nearly two years of conflict in the northern region of Tigray. Many protesters held banners accusing the United States of disrespecting Ethiopia’s sovereignty, while others directed their anger at the fugitive leaders of the Tigray region. The demonstrations reflect growing frustration with both external pressures and the ongoing internal strife.
