England Faces Netherlands in First ODI with New Look Lineup

Phil Salt steps in for Jonny Bairstow as England opts for an all left-arm fast bowling attack.

In their first one-day international against the Netherlands, England opened with Phil Salt alongside Jason Roy after Jonny Bairstow’s commitment to Test cricket ruled him out of the three-match series in Amstelveen. Salt is joined by Dawid Malan at first drop, stepping into the lineup in Bairstow’s absence.

The match began with Dutch captain Pieter Seelaar winning the toss and electing to bowl first. England’s seam attack features left-arm fast bowlers Sam Curran, David Willey, and Reece Topley, while Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone are expected to provide spin support alongside Adil Rashid. The Netherlands made one notable change by leaving out Tom Cooper, with Philippe Boissevain and Shane Snater included in their XI.
