Royal Navy Flagship Anchors Near Statue of Liberty Amid U.S. Deployment

HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s flagship, anchored in New York Harbor on Sunday, with the Statue of Liberty in view, as part of its deployment to the U.S. The vessel will host an Anglo-American military conference, strengthening ties between the two nations. Departing from Portsmouth on September 7, the Queen Elizabeth took over this mission from its sister ship, HMS Prince of Wales, which encountered mechanical issues off the Isle of Wight just before its planned journey.
