Paralympic Champion Cox Overcomes Challenges to Secure Back-to-Back Victory

Kadeena Cox celebrated her remarkable world-record performance in the C4-5 500m time trial in Tokyo, describing it as a “near-perfect” achievement. The dual-sport star, who made her mark in both athletics and cycling, overcame a series of personal hurdles, including disordered eating and injuries, to retain her title. Cox, sporting red and blue hair for the occasion, dominated the race at the Izu Velodrome, with her compatriot Jaco Van Gass also earning a bronze. The Leeds-born athlete, who rose to prominence at the Rio 2016 Paralympics, showed resilience and determination to defend her championship at her second successive Games.
