Women and Children Among the Latest Arrivals as Boat Crossings Continue
More than 4,600 people have reached the UK by crossing the English Channel on small boats since the beginning of the year, with recent arrivals including women and young children. Lifejackets and blankets were seen covering passengers as they were rescued by Border Force vessels and RNLI lifeboats, arriving at ports such as Dover and Dungeness.
The ongoing influx highlights the growing challenge of boat crossings, which have led to safety concerns and political debates regarding migration and border control in the UK. The government is under increasing pressure to find solutions, as these crossings continue to add strain on local resources and services.
