Teenager Arrested for Attempted Murder Following College Stabbing in Woolwich

19-Year-Old Charged After 18-Year-Old Student Seriously Injured Outside Shooters Hill College

A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident outside Shooters Hill College in Woolwich. O’Quaine Simpson, from Lewisham, is accused of attacking an 18-year-old student with a knife on Monday afternoon. The victim, a Year 12 pupil, was found by police at approximately 4:20 pm on Prince Imperial Road, suffering from stab wounds.

The injured student was rushed to the hospital, initially reported to be in life-threatening condition, but is now in a stable state. Simpson has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and is scheduled to appear before Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Alongside Simpson, a 17-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. She has been released on bail as the investigation continues.

The serious nature of the charges against Simpson means the case is likely to be referred to Crown Court. This violent episode follows another stabbing in north London the previous day, where two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, were also injured in separate incidents. Furthermore, a 14-year-old boy, Kelyan Bokassa, tragically lost his life in a stabbing on a bus in Woolwich just one day later.
