Peak Viewing Expected on May 5-6, Offering Up to 50 Meteors Per Hour
The Eta Aquarid meteor shower will peak between May 5 and 6, 2022, offering an incredible celestial display with up to 50 meteors visible per hour. This spectacular event can be best observed just before dawn. The meteor shower, which is visible until May 27, occurs when Earth passes through the debris left by Halley’s Comet, which orbits the planet every 76 years.
