Family seeks closure after 25-year-old Salinas woman goes missing under mysterious circumstances
On 22/09/2022, Arelie Garcia, a 25-year-old woman from Salinas, California, was last seen leaving her apartment. Several hours later, her car was found abandoned on the side of the road. Despite the passing of a year, her family, including her sisters Veronica and Elizet, is still looking for answers.
Veronica Garcia, Arelie’s sister, pleaded for information, saying, “If anybody knows something please speak up. It’s been way too long without my sister, and it’s been such a nightmare.” The family continues to struggle with the uncertainty surrounding Arelie’s disappearance, holding on to hope that someone will come forward with information.
Arelie grew up in Salinas with six siblings and shared a particularly close bond with Veronica and Elizet. Veronica also highlighted Arelie’s caring and selfless nature, explaining that she was always there to help others. “She loves helping people. She goes out of her way,” Veronica said. “She’s very bubbly. She’s always laughing. It doesn’t matter what type of day you’re having if you see Arelie, you know you’re gonna be laughing.”
At the time of her disappearance, Arelie was living with their mother in Salinas. Veronica and Elizet both spoke to Arelie just before she vanished, but communication ended suddenly. Veronica received a text message from Arelie on the morning of 22/09, saying, “Good morning, I love you.” It was the last message she received from her sister.
Arelie worked as a service advisor at My Chevrolet in Salinas. Elizet received a call from Arelie’s manager on the morning of 22/09, expressing concern that Arelie had not shown up for her shift. “That is not something she would do,” Elizet explained. Arelie had been expected to arrive at work at 7 a.m. that day.
The Garcia family remains dedicated to finding Arelie, even as time passes. They continue to appeal to the public, hoping that someone who may have seen something will come forward, providing the answers they so desperately need.
