Why You Should Consider Red Light Therapy for 2025 Wellness

Discover the long-term benefits and top ways to incorporate red light therapy into your routine this year.

If you haven’t heard of red light therapy yet, you might be missing out on one of the hottest wellness trends of 2025. It’s becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. This low-energy red light treatment, which stimulates your cells’ mitochondria, promises a wide range of benefits, from clearer skin to improved mood.

I’ve made it a part of my morning routine. After I wake up, I take a shot of Symprove, hydrate with hot water, lemon, ginger, and salt, and then slip on my CurrentBody Series 2 LED Mask. Though it may look a bit peculiar, the benefits keep me committed: my skin becomes calmer and more even, and it provides a noticeable boost to my mood, especially on dreary winter mornings.

I’m far from alone in my enthusiasm for red light therapy. According to a global survey by Bon Charge, over 7,000 adults participated, and more than 20% of UK respondents reported using this therapy. Among younger users (under 35), the popularity is even greater, with 46% regularly incorporating it into their routines.

One of the best things about red light therapy is its flexibility. Whether you opt for a mask, a panel, or a body-specific device, there’s a solution for everyone. Whether you’re looking for clearer skin, reduced joint pain, or better circulation, red light therapy delivers a range of benefits, and unlike sunlight, it won’t damage your skin. It can even help with conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

The real secret to seeing results is consistency. If mornings are too rushed for a daily session, try using your device before bed to help you relax and prepare for a peaceful night’s sleep. Renowned skincare expert and QMS Global Ambassador Rowan Hall-Farrise recommends evening use to wind down. Alternatively, you can fit in a session during an afternoon break. The key is to make it a regular part of your routine.

Most devices deliver therapeutic doses in a single session, typically lasting 10 minutes, so no need to repeat the treatment unless otherwise advised.

Here are three of my favourite red light therapy devices to get started with.
